We need customer documents to carry out adequate credit checks .

The documents required vary according to the circumstance, but in general it is good to remind your customers that they will need to have at hand:

• a photo of the identity document
• a photo of the tax code
• an income document

and that they must be ready to take a selfie / a video-selfie .

The selfie is the most delicate of the required documents. What do we need it for? To associate the customer’s face with the one represented on the document, to confirm that it is actually the customer who makes the request, then be sure to specify well on your site how to take the photo. We already have one very detailed guide that explains well all the aspects related to the selfie, and that you can use as a starting point for the texts to be used on your platform.

There is also another procedure for recognition: thanks to the Onfido tool you can ask your customer to make a short video in which he moves his face in a guided way to verify his identity.

Also, depending on the case, some other documents may be required. For example, the residence permit, if the user does not come from the European Community, or an income document, which is mandatory if in the call to create a payment request we have returned the parameter additionalDataNeeded with value true.
